Mt. Kinabalu

CLIMBING Package

Day 1     Brunei à Kota KinabaluMt Kinabalu Source: http://www.climbmtkinabalu.com
Today, board your flight for Kota Kinabalu. Transfer to hotel by own arrangement to hotel of your choice. Free atLeisure. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 2      Kinabalu National Park (/Lunch/Dinner)
Early morning depart at 7.30am from hotel to Kinabalu National Park. Driven pass the Crocker Range with its’ panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Brief stops at a native market then continue onwards to the Park for check-in.

This nature-lover’s retreat is home to a wide range of unspoilt flora and fauna. Visit the Exhibit Centre and Mountain Garden to learn more on some of Mother Nature’s miracles or explore the many graded trails. Overnight at the Park Headquarters (twin-bed cabin).

Day 3       Trek up to the Laban Rata. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
After breakfast, proceed for registration for your climb up. Transfer to Timpohon Gate (starting point of climb) to begin ascent. No special mountaineering skill is required but a certain level of physical fitness is essential. Be ready for leg cramps and sudden rain showers. A tough hike through the changing forest scene will end at Laban Rata (3345m) for the night. Overnight stay at Laban Rate resthouse dormitories.

Day 4     Summit à Kota Kinabalu à Brunei (Breakfast)
Before the crack of dawn we start our climb up to the summit (4095.2m) in darkness (3.00am) just in time to catch the glorious sunrise (weather permitting). You might get altitude sickness but don’t give up! Persevere on with determination to reach your goal! Then we descent from the mountain peak....don’t look down as descending can be scary.

We must descend before the morning mist rolls in. Breakfast at Laban Rata resthouse and continue down to Timpohon Gate where climbers will be picked up at 2.00pm and transfer back to the Park for lunch. If you had completed the climb you will be a proud owner of an authentic “Mountain Climb Certificate”. Leave the Park at 4.00pm and travel back to Kota Kinabalu city to catch your flight home or opt to stay another night.
