The Tamoi Tengah Traditional Village is a tourism attraction that features authentic lifestyles of the Brunei community on the water that remains as it is for hundred years.
The Traditional Village features the residences of the water villagers and the central house of Mingai Zari that house antiques that dates back to several generations which itself is about 131 years old by 2010.
The Traditional Village features a modern house that serves refreshments of daily made local cakes, a gallery of modern life and the Mingai Zari for a full cultural tour of Brunei’s life in the water village that hanged very little except for a few visible modern gadgets.
The tour is a balance of old and new at the same time to present a view of the life on the water. In short, a guest is presented with two houses, a mangrove patch and refreshments in one tour as well as fully guided and question and answer session of any inquisitive tourist.
The tour is on foot upon entry and exit is fully guided by residence of the village and takes the guests meandering through a mangrove patch that features the lively residence of the mangroves, amenities of the life on the water and the life styles of the water village.
