| Afternoon City Sights 1/2 Day - D12 |
Join a city sights tour this afternoon for the perfect introduction to
Darwin, with expert commentary by a local guide. See the Chinese Temple
and the lush Botanic Gardens. Tour the historic sites of the city including
the East Point Military Precinct. See the Stokes Hill Wharf area and the
Mooring Basin. There is also time available to explore the Museum and Art
Gallery of the Northern Territory. Optional sunset harbour cruise available.

| Afternoon Jumping Crocodile Cruise 1/2 Day - D2 |
This afternoon join the famous Adelaide River Jumping Crocodile
Cruise. Your local guide will entice the crocodiles to leap out of the
water. The cruise will enable you to see these prehistoric creatures
at close range. Continue to the Window on the Wetlands Visitors
Centre for views over the Marrakai Plains and then on to Fogg Dam
Nature Reserve, before returning to Darwin.

| Kakadu National Park Full Day - D4 |
Leaving Darwin, we travel on the Arnhem Highway across the
Adelaide River and Marrakai Plains. A wide selection of native
wildlife has made this region their home. Stop at Nourlangie Rock,
where your Guide will lead a walk to view ancient Aboriginal rock
art. After lunch we join our local guide for a cruise on the famous
Yellow Water Billabong. Search for saltwater crocodiles and the
colourful range of bird life for which this region is renowned. Visit
the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre and view the informative
displays depicting the traditions of the Aboriginal people in Kakadu,
before returning to Darwin. An optional spectacular 50 minute
scenic flight over Kakadu is available today.

| Litchfield National Park Full Day - D5 |
Visiting the main falls of Litchfield National Park, you have the
opportunity for scenic and interpretive bush and monsoon vine
forest walks. View Florence Falls from a high vantage point before
making your way down the stairs to the plunge pool below. Visit
Tolmer Falls for a magnificent view of the water cascading down to
the deep waterhole below. We venture to Wangi Falls for another
opportunity for a swim in the large crystal clear pool and
an optional steady climb through the monsoon vine forest to the top of
the falls. A great day also for taking many interesting photos, including the
amazing stand of Termite Mounds.

| Katherine Gorge and Edith Falls Full Day - D11 |
Travel south through tropical country, passing former WWII airstrips. We
make a short stop at the Adelaide River War Cemetery, a site dedicated
to those killed in the air raids in Darwin in the 1940s. Continue to Edith
Falls, where there is time for a refreshing swim in the waterhole beneath
the falls (conditions permitting). Enjoy lunch and a 2 hour scenic cruise
through Katherine Gorge in Nitmiluk National Park. Enjoy a brief tour of
Katherine, the third largest town in the Territory and hub of the region’s
cattle and farming industries. An evening stop is made at Adelaide River
where you may purchase dinner (own expense). You may like to sample
the famous ‘Barra and Chips’, before returning to Darwin.

| Tiwi Islands Cultural Exprience Full Day - DB01 |
Make your own way to the General Aviation Terminal Darwin Airport by
7.30am (own expense). Depart at 8.00am and take a 30 minute flight
to Bathurst Island and join a guided journey through the modern day
Aboriginal community of Nguiu. Visit the museum with its interesting
displays of traditional art and depictions of the Tiwi ‘Dreamtime’ stories
and Early Mission Precinct with its unique Tiwi style Catholic Church. Visit
the Arts & Crafts Centres with the opportunity to purchase Tiwi arts and
crafts at Island prices. At morning tea spend time with our guides and Tiwi
ladies enjoying billy tea and damper. Witness traditional totem dances and
a smoking ceremony to bless the visitors and hear about the meanings
behind them. Visit a Tiwi burial site and learn some of the complex rituals
associated with the Pukamani Poles (burial poles).
Return to Darwin,
arriving at approximately 5.15pm. /
