Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy are safe and effective means of examining the lining of the oesophagus, stomach, colon and rectum to detect ulcers, inflmmation, bleeding, growth or blockage.
Why You Should Go for Gastroscopy or Colonoscopy
The American College of Physicians recommends that an average risk person should undergo a screening Colonoscopy and/or Gastroscopy at 50 years of age, and every five years later.
You should consider Gastroscopy or Colonsocopy if you have any of the following symptoms;
Colonoscopy
- Abdominal pain of discomfort 
- Chronic diarrhoea
- Anaemia
- Chronic constipation / bowel changes
- Bleeding while passing motion
- Exclude cancers of the colon
- Unexplained loss of weight or appetite
- Surveillance for inflammatory bowel disease
- Family history of colon cancer or polyp
Gastroscopy
- Abdominal pain or discomfort
- Heartburn
- Anaemia
- Evidence of blood loss from gastrointestinal tract
- Unexplained loss of weight or appetite
